Notification to Broadcasters Regarding the Change in Ownership Structure

At its meeting held on 28 December 2009, the Council of the Republic Broadcasting Agency passed the decision to notify the broadcasters once again via the Agency's official site that they are obliged to notify the Agency in written form of any change in their ownership structure, as well as any change in the other data contained in the radio and/or television broadcasting licence.

 

The provisions of Article 103 of the Broadcasting Law stipulate that broadcasters are obliged to notify the Agency in written form of any change in their ownership structure, and if they fail to do so, the Agency shall take all measures stipulated by the Law against them (file a request for initiating misdemeanour proceedings to the competent misdemeanour courts and initiate the proceedings for pronouncing the measures stipulated by the Broadcasting Law.

 

Article 113 paragraph 1 item 15 of the Law stipulates a fine between 300,000.00 and 1,000,000.00 dinars for a legal person and between 20,000.00 and 50,000.00 dinars for the responsible person in the legal person if the broadcaster fails to report the change in ownership structure in accordance with the provision of Article 103 of the Law.
