Protection of minors – the key topic of the 11th BRAF meeting

Representatives of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media attended in the 11th meeting of the Black Sea Regulatory Authorities Forum (BRAF) from 14 to 16 April, at the invitation of colleagues from Azerbaijan.

The main topic of the meeting was the legislative framework for the protection of minors in programme content and the role of media literacy and parents in the protection of minors from harmful content in the digital environment.

The participants agreed that although this issue has been central to the work and existence of all regulatory authorities since their establishment, its relevance does persist, because the digital environment necessitates the inclusion of not only regulators, but also other institutions, organisations and, most critically, the education and engagement of parents in the field of protection of minors.
