Representatives of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media participated in the 63rd meeting of the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA), which was held in Tirana from 20 to 22 May 2026, organised by the Albanian regulatory authority for audiovisual media services.

The Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media provides full support to the proposal of the Working Group for the Establishment of a Memorial Centre in Memory of the Victims of the Mass Murder at the Vladislav Ribnikar Experimental Elementary School, established by the Decision of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, on the manner of commemorating the anniversary of the mass murders in this school and in Dubona and Malo Orašje, in the programmes of television and radio media service providers, with the aim of preserving and keeping the memory alive, so that as a society we become aware of the magnitude of the tragedy that has happened to us.

In cooperation with Radio-Television of Vojvodina (RTV), representatives of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media (REM) held a presentation for the editorial board of the provincial public service broadcaster and presented the results of the latest survey titled Report on the Needs of Media Service Users in Serbia. The meeting was an opportunity for the professional media community to get more closely acquainted with the habits and expectations of the audience in a dynamic media environment.

A representative of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media participated in the The Role of Media in Democratic Countries seminar in Tokyo, which was organised by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) from 12 to 29 November.

As part of the technical assistance of Japan, which is implemented in cooperation with the Japanese public service broadcaster (NHK), this year’s programme of exchange of knowledge between the Japanese media experts and representatives of institutions and media from Serbia, Moldova, Ukraine, Mongolia, South Sudan, Sierra Leone, Gabon, Fiji, Grenada and Kosovo* was designed.

A representative of the REM Monitoring and Analysis Service attended the presentation of the Compendium on Promoting Journalistic Excellence in Zagreb. At the meeting, which took place on 27 and 28 November, at the invitation of the Agency for Electronic Media (AEM) from Croatia, the process of selection of papers, evaluation criteria and goals of the annual competition were presented, with professional exchange of views on current challenges facing contemporary journalism in the region.

Representatives of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media (REM), together with the representatives of Radio Television of Vojvodina, visited Ankara from 24 to 28 November, as part of a study visit to the Supreme Council for Radio and Television of the Republic of Turkey (RTÜK). The visit was organised on the basis of the Protocol on Cooperation and Expert Exchange Programme that REM has with RTÜK, aimed at strengthening institutional cooperation, exchanging experiences and improving regulatory practices in the field of media.

Today, in the premises of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media, a meeting was held with representatives of the Embassy of France and the French regulator ARCOM. The guests were presented with the organisational structure and competences of REM, with special attention to the mechanisms of monitoring media content in regular conditions and during election processes, as well as to the specifics of the procedures that the regulator applies in order to safeguard pluralism and compliance of media service providers.

Representatives of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media participated in the 62th European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA) meeting, held in Yerevan on 23 and 24 October 2025 and organised by the Commission for Television and Radio of Armenia. This two-day meeting brought together around 115 representatives from 45 regulatory authorities, permanent observers and experts, with the aim of exchanging experiences and discussing current issues of media regulation in Europe.

REM at the conference of the Alliance against Trafficking in Persons

The Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) held the 25th Conference of the Alliance against Trafficking in Persons in Vienna, which was attended by a representative of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media.

At the conference, whose main theme was Protecting Childhoods, Shaping Futures: A Call to End Child Trafficking”, and which was held from 31 March to 1 April, it was concluded that OSCE member states should triple their efforts to combat child trafficking.

Decision of the Constitutional Court on the initiative of the REM Council

The Constitutional Court issued a decision dismissing the initiative to initiate a procedure for assessing the constitutionality of the provision of Article 126, paragraph 1 of the Law on Electronic Media (Official Gazette of the RS, no. 92/2023).

The aforementioned article stipulates that the members of the Council elected in accordance with the Law on Electronic Media (Official Gazette of the RS, nos. 83/14, 6/16-other law and 129/21) shall continue to perform that duty until the expiry of one year from the day this law enters into force.
