Media pluralism and strategic thinking are an important factor in the work of regulators in the digital age

Representatives of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media participated in the 62th European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA) meeting, held in Yerevan on 23 and 24 October 2025 and organised by the Commission for Television and Radio of Armenia. This two-day meeting brought together around 115 representatives from 45 regulatory authorities, permanent observers and experts, with the aim of exchanging experiences and discussing current issues of media regulation in Europe.

Under the leadership of EPRA President Stephanie Comey, the opening session – Agora was dedicated to the latest activities and development initiatives of the members and observers. The most notable were the presentations of colleagues about the experiences and initiatives related to the transparency of ownership structures and media pluralism.

The 62th meeting focused on two thematic sessions:
“Defining, promoting and safeguarding media pluralism in the digital age”, dedicated to the impact of platforms and regulation, artificial intelligence and media pluralism.

“How to set strategies in a fast-developing environment and implement them?”, which included sharing experiences about internal processes, planning and implementation of strategic documents in regulatory authorities.

The EPRA brings together 56 media regulators from across Europe, providing an independent, participatory and open platform for the exchange of information, practices and knowledge. The aim of this network is to promote transparent, professional and efficient media regulation, as well as to support regulators in adapting to the changes brought about by the digital environment.

The participation of the Regulator’s representatives at this meeting contributed to strengthening international cooperation, exchange of professional experiences and promotion of good practices in the field of media regulation.
