Visit of representatives of the Embassy of France and the French regulator ARCOM

Today, in the premises of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media, a meeting was held with representatives of the Embassy of France and the French regulator ARCOM. The guests were presented with the organisational structure and competences of REM, with special attention to the mechanisms of monitoring media content in regular conditions and during election processes, as well as to the specifics of the procedures that the regulator applies in order to safeguard pluralism and compliance of media service providers.

During the discussion, experiences in the field of electronic media regulation were exchanged, and REM representatives pointed out the challenges of the domestic media environment. With gratitude for the readiness to cooperate, support was sought in improving transparency of media ownership, development of media literacy and transposition of new European media documents into the national legal framework.

The meeting was held in a constructive spirit and laid the foundation for further strengthening of institutional cooperation.
