Press Release of 04 November 2009
Regarding the statements in the media that Palma TV will start broadcasting, we hereby inform the public that, at its meeting held on 29/10/2009, the RBA Council acted pursuant to the decision of the Supreme Court of Serbia and passed a new decision whereby it is prohibited Palma Ltd d.o.o Beograd from broadcasting programme in the territory of the City of Belgrade.
At the same meeting, the RBA Council rejected the request of Palma Ltd d.o.o, Belgrade, for issuing a licence for broadcasting programme for the territory of the City of Belgrade on channel 34/8.
Contrary to the claims of the representative of Palma Ltd d.o.o, Belgrade, the Supreme Court of Serbia has never ordered the Agency to issue a licence to Palma TV for broadcasting TV programme for the territory of the City of Belgrade on channel 34/8, but only to decide on its request dated 27/07/2006, without the violations of procedural rules initially made, which is exactly what the Agency Council did at its meeting of 29/10/2009.
