Study on Serbia's Regulatory Authority’s Legal Framework and its Alignment with European Standards
Study on Serbia's Regulatory Authority’s Legal Framework and its Alignment with European Standards is published today with the support of the European Union and the Council of Europe.
The purpose of this Study is to determine future activities to support the development of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media in relation to the implementation of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD), as well as the implementation of new EU legislation, such as the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA).
This Study represents a strategically important document for the Regulator, which provides clear guidelines for the adoption of numerous by-laws, rules and procedures, but also preparation for the upcoming new regulation in the field of media, that Serbia has to align in the process of EU accession.
The Study was prepared under the action “Protecting freedom of expression and of the media (PROFREX) in Serbia”, which is part of the joint European Union and the Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and is available in Serbian and English language.
